The STAR Program
The STAR program is a weekly program run by facilitators who teach the girls (s)elf-esteem building, (t)eamwork, (a)mbition, and (r)espect (STAR). Additionally, the girls learn how to incorporate self-care, exercise, and balanced nutrition into their daily lives as a method of reducing the effects of mental illness. The girls are also paired with a trained mentor they can talk to and spend time with. The program will also have women in the work-force to come out and speak with the girls about continuing their education and offering internships upon completion of school.
